Our Building Process

Design/ Build

With Design / Build we offer one integrated team for your project.  By working with our in-house design service in collaboration with affiliated design professionals, we offer one cohesive team from concept to completion, and the benefit of a builder’s input right from the start.  We incorporate building expertise, budget, scheduling and value engineering into the design at the beginning rather than after the plans are finished, as in the traditional design / bid system.  With our involvement from the start, your project will progress more smoothly and quickly with strict adherence to your goals and budget.  We are also happy to work with your own qualified design professionals.

Construction

This is where our professionalism, experience, skill and craftsmanship fully come into play.  Good planning leads to efficient construction.  Our project management is extensive both before construction starts and throughout the entire process, so selections are made and orders placed timely to keep the project moving as efficiently and quickly as possible.  With 36 years of experience in San Francisco, Alameda, Marin and Contra Costa counties, we have an extensive network of subcontractors, suppliers and craftspeople, all managed closely by Chuck and his project management team.  We maintain close communication with the client throughout, and are always available to answer questions or offer any assistance you may need.

Green Building

Energy efficiency, sustainability, cost efficiency and livability have been our core building values since we began.  We‘ve grown smarter at maximizing efficiency, conserving resources, and eliminating toxic materials for healthier and more comfortable buildings. 



Buildings efficiency is improving but more is needed to reduce their energy and environmental footprint, as we face energy and climate challenges.


We offer heating, cooling and home energy systems including heat pumps, mini splits, radiant heating and solar.  While natural gas is a lower cost fuel we rely on for our homes, we believe electrical appliances including heat pump technology ideally with solar is the wave of the future to make our homes safer, healthier, cost efficient in the long run, and leading towards energy independence with a low carbon footprint.
